David is the Head of Scientific Business Development at Allumiqs. Joining the team in 2024, David capitalizes on the experience and professional network gained in his 30+ year career in life sciences research to identify and pursue strategic business development and innovation opportunities for Allumiqs. In his role as Head of Scientific Business Development, David emphasizes Allumiqs commitment to being a customer focused solutions-based tech-enabled CRO. By investing in outstanding partnerships, and taking advantage of Allumiq’s advanced data portals and virtual presence, our customers can take advantage of our world-class technologies without having to invest in the infrastructure, capital costs, and finding the top talent necessary to be competitive in today’s research environments.
Most recently David was the Director of the Molecular Determinants Center and Core at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, a top pediatric health center in Florida. He previously served as an Associate Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In addition to his PhD in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, he has extensive experience in Proteomics, Metabolomics and Lipidomics. He has published over 65 peer reviewed articles (click here for publication list), edited books and book chapters and has several patents. David has an outstanding track record in clinical biomarker discovery and has been a co-investigator or co-principal investigator on several NIH-funded research grants.
David brings a depth and breadth of experience in both basic science research and clinical and translational research and is an active investigator on several NIH grants. His current research grants range from studying toxic substances involved in the manufacturing of medical equipment and their effects on health outcomes, the role of thyroid hormone in the development of dementia and the effects of anti-retroviral therapy on pregnant women.
Before obtaining his PhD at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, he earned a Masters of Science from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Science Biomedical and Health Sciences from Guelph University.
